2017 saw major developments to open up new camping areas for 2018 and beyond. Following recent logging operations a new forest drive has been created on the South side of the site. Not only will this make future extraction easier but has the added advantage of providing a vehicular access point close to the "ice boulder". A shelter has been created by the "Wednesday" group at the road head providing a sheltered area to drop off and collect equipment. It is also available for campers in this area to use in the case of inclement weather.

A third Eco loo has been sighted close to the bivouac to serve both it and the new camping ground. In a nearby location a new water storage area has been established which will service a couple of new taps in the area.
